2018 Sale Results  -  Strong demand for Droughtmaster Females 

There was certainly a crowd gathered yesterday at the Gympie Saleyards for the 2018 NATIONAL FEMALE SALE. Over 100 bid cards were issued and bidding was fierce from the commencement of the sale until the hammer fell on the final lot. 130 females sold of the 132 offered to see a 98% clearance and sale average of $3,238.

In a sale breakdown:


Two cows and calves sold of 3 offered, average $3,250, top price of $3,500 for Lot 1 Benjamin Naarah (P) offered by Lesley Howard, Benjamin Droughtmasters, North Aramara and purchased by JE & RJ Hansen, Maclagan.

19 Joined heifers sold of 19 offered, average $3,868, top price of $8,000 for Lot 21 Bryvonlea Edian offered by Brian & Yvonne Heck, Bryvonlea Droughtmasters, Glastonbury and purchased by Chris & Hailey Heness of Ridgy Didge Droughtmasters, Goomeri.

109 Unjoined heifers sold of 111 offered, average $3,128, top price of $11,000 reached twice for Lot 25 Sugerland Jingle offered by Will & Ingrid Haviland, Sugerland Droughtmasters, Coowonga, and Lot 63 Hamadra Hazel offered by Andrew and Kerri McKenzie, Hamadra Droughtmasters, Bluff. Chris & Hailey Heness, Ridgy Didge Droughtmasters purchased both heifers.
