Katherine Rose Wins Award

November 1, 2017

Like many schools throughout Australia, Murgon State High School has Ag Studies as a part of its curriculum. At the school’s recent speech night presentations, Katherine Rose was presented with the Excellence in Agriculture Award.

The Excellence in Agriculture Award is presented to the student who participates enthusiastically in their agriculture subject, represents the school in agriculture-based activities including shows, works well as a... team member, shows an interest in the ongoing development of the Agricultural Department and displays dependability and responsibility.

The award has been presented since 2007 and is supported by 6 Droughtmaster Studs - Mt. Brisbane, Rocky View, Tajana, Brigalow Park, Wundaburra & Amavale.

Katherine was thrilled to receive the award and felt it was a great honour given her background in agriculture. In May this year, Katherine formed her own Droughtmaster Stud “Amavale K” Stud #1720 and her ambition is to breed good quality cattle. Next year, Katherine plans to further her studies in Agriculture at the University of Queensland Gatton Campus.

Congratulations on this great achievement, Katherine. You are already a great ambassador for the youth of the Droughtmaster breed and we know that you have a bright future ahead of you.
