Not many people generally like to go to meetings, but when it's held on a property with breathtaking views looking out over green grass and red Droughtmaster cattle, few would complain.
One of the great things about belonging to our Breed Society, and especially for those in the South East Zone, is the opportunity to meet with other Droughtmaster producers to exchange ideas and see another breeder's operation first-hand by taking Zone meeting...s outside of a room.
The following report was sent in by SE Zone Director, Brian Heck.
"The Droughtmaster South East Zone Meeting was held on Saturday in the picturesque Mary Valley at Parklands Droughtmaster Stud. Our hosts for the day were Brett and Clinton Paulger. On display the Paulgers had a selection of Parkland Cows and Calves, young heifers and bulls and one of their latest sires. Once a prominent dairy, the Paulger Family now run Droughtmaster stud and commercial cattle as well as the very popular Parklands MX Park at Kenilworth. The meeting was held in the dairy with a breathtaking backdrop of the green valley dotted with the red droughtmaster cattle.
A big thank you to the Paulger Family for their hospitality and providing a most enjoyable lunch. We do live in the most spectacular zone. Thank you everyone for coming."
** Brian also wished to note that the Zone Christmas Party is booked for Sunday 10th December at Maleny Hotel. Further information will be emailed shortly to members.
