The WAYCHC was first held in 2005 by a small number of committed Western Australian beef and dairy producers, to provide the younger generation of cattle enthusiasts a deep knowledge of cattle husbandry. They also work to open up networking opportunities and provide potential career pathways for youth.
Entrants are exposed to multiple aspects of the cattle industry over the three-day event, including animal husbandry, production systems, animal welfare, workplace safety and livestock preparation and exhibition.
The 2023 Camp will be held at the Brunswick Showgrounds in Brunswick, WA, during the school holidays from 20-22 April.
